Twin Bed in a Bag

The bed in a bag concept makes shopping for new bedding very simple. Everything is together in one set, everything matches, there's nothing difficult except narrowing down which pattern you like. For twin beds most of the patterns would appeal to children or college students since they are most likely to have a twin bed (one that sleeps an individual person). There are some more upscale designs in the twin bedding size, however there aren't quite as many of those as there are for the king and queen sizes.

These combo bedding sets are easy to find in pretty much all home decor and bedding stores, in addition to several online retailers. The shopper has to decide if they want the small, medium or multi piece sets. Most of them come with a comforter or quilt, pillow sham and bed skirt. The larger sets come with matching sheets (flat, fitted and pillow cases) and some even include one or more matching pillows. Prices vary accordingly.

For the sets that are larger and include sheets (there aren't as many of these, most do not include full sheet sets) be sure to get a set that has a larger thread count so the sheets are more comfortable.

It's very hard to find a pirate or princess themed set for the larger bed sizes, but they're quite common in the twin size. Everything from licensed Disney characters to animals, to trucks and ballerinas are available for your little children. It makes decorating a child's bedroom very easy when you can find a cute themed bedding set they like and match the wall color to one of the primary or complementary colors in the pattern. If you feel that your child is old enough to make the choice, have them go shopping with you and pick out their own set. If the choice is too difficult or if their tastes change often, you may want to get a pattern that isn't so easily outgrown. Something that would appeal to both the younger and pre teen child will last longer and you won't have to replace the bedding quite so frequently.

Prices for these sets range from $30 to $250, more if the thread count on a 16 piece set is really high. But usually you can expect to pay between $50-$100 for a good set. It's not something people want to rebuy every year so they usually get somthing they expect their child to like for a while. If there is a need to quickly redecorate, it's easily done with the bed-in-a-bag concept since everything is provided for you in one bunch and there's no problem coordinating any of the pieces.

It's easy to get lost in the choices you have available so we recommend narrowing it down like this:

  1. Do we want a themed set or something plain?
  2. If themed, should we do a licensed character (sometimes more expensive) or a standard truck or fairy princess design?
  3. Do we need a lot of pieces of just the comforter and a bed skirt?
  4. Are matching sheets available?
  5. Should the base be a bright color something more subdued and mature?

Answering those questions should narrow down your options pretty quickly.
